Summary

Three primary objectives of the "Greater Lyon, a Business Spirit" program are to improve the area's international influence, to make it more visible, and to improve its attractivity. Achieving these goals entails carrying out extensive promotion of the area, by highlighting its cultural heritage and tourist value, two criteria that are as important for businesses as they are for business tourism. These assets should enable Lyon to effectively rival its English and German neighbors, and to become one of the main host cities for conference and trade shows.

 


Actions to promote Lyon and enhance its international influence




Develop and pool the area's marketing resources



 

Set up an appropriate territorial marketing campaign, by intensifying communication to the benefit of the area's economy more so as to attract new investors, businesses, tourism, conferences and trade shows.

 

"Greater Lyon, a Business Spirit" now communicates with its own label.

 

Communicate about Lyon, a cultural and tourist destination

Promoting Lyon and its conurbation involves improving its cultural and tourist offer, through top-range facilities and international events, like the Biennale de la danse (two-yearly dance festival), the Biennale d'Art contemporain (two-yearly modern art festival), Opera, etc.

 

Develop conference and trade show facilities

Promoting the Lyon conurbation will involve hosting European and world conferences and trade shows.

 

Create an Internet economic portal

The implementation of this tool will showcase the area's skills and assets, and attract businesses.
