Summary

The Lyon Urban Community is thoroughly committed to providing a strong representation to companies, local authorities and economic players, so as to be more reactive to the needs of company managers. This is essential for the Lyon conurbation to attract and keep the interest of the resident companies, and to support their development.

Economic action on a local level

Strengthening support for companies

Greater Lyon's commitment has led to the implementation, over the entire conurbation, of economic developers whose role is essentially to support companies (help them with setting up, expansion or relocation, waste management, etc.), and act as an interface between local associations (Greater Lyon, etc.) and companies.

As a rule, the Urban Community hands over an economic development mission to a local entity that is already active in the field in question (for example, the Techlid association was entrusted with part of the West Lyon project).

The Mayors' Conferences (9 in the whole conurbation) are selected territories in which economic developers can guarantee rapid and efficient action.

A partnership project

This project is conducted in very close partnership with locally elected representatives, and all economic partners (CCIL, Chamber of Trades, each town's economic departments, corporate associations, etc.).

5 territories are currently involved in this promotion of the local economy:

Saône Valley Conference (led by the Syndicat Val de Saône (Saône Valley Syndicate)),
North Plateau Conference (led by the CCIL),
West-North & West-South Conference (led by Techlid for the member towns),
South-East & South-West Conference (led by the Comité de Bassin Lyon Sud (South Lyon Basin Committee)),
Chemistry Valley (led by the Lyon Urban Community)
