Summary

After conducting a huge prospective exercise, backed by an assessment of the local economy (updated in 2003), all the economic partners launched their action plans. Many important operations are now near conclusion.

Engage in enterprise and development

Stimulate the business spirit through awareness-raising campaigns, and actions aimed at supporting the creation, transfer or buyout of businesses.

 

Regenerate and innovate

Build up the capacities of SMEs and SMIs to adapt, by distributing technological, social and organizational innovations.

 

Choose to specialize

Strengthen the areas of excellence (digital leisure activities, biotechnologies/cancer research, and fashion/design): in order to attain the objectives identified by "Greater Lyon, a Business Spirit", the project sponsors conduct a whole range of activities, around 3 main economic levers, so as to refine the economic and entrepreneurial excellence of the Lyon conurbation.


Promote Lyon

Undertake a specific local marketing campaign, emphasizing communication in favor of the territory's economy with a view to attracting new investors, businesses, conferences and trade shows.

 

Develop the territory

Plan new installation sites, and develop major facilities for the conurbation.

 

Enhance the area's sustainable development

Support businesses to help them increase their awareness of environmental issues, and adopt cleaner production processes.
