TRUCKLAND: A business project and a new neighbourhood

Renault Trucks (AB Volvo Group – 14,135 jobs), flagship of Lyon’s industrial sector, occupies a site of almost 350 hectares on the borders of Saint-Priest and Vénissieux, at the heart of one of the most dynamic economic sectors in the conurbation: Porte des Alpes.
The company, keen to rationalise and make the most of its land and property heritage, plans to construct almost 16,000 sqm of floor space over 7 hectares in order to develop a new flagship project: Truckland. This global shop window for the company will combine training activities with sales and marketing departments. In addition, the site will be home to business parks that complement its development to the north and east, alongside zones dedicated to housing covering approximately 100 hectares.
It is a perfect example of how a project driven by a major commercial vehicle manufacturer can lead to the creation of a whole new neighbourhood.
